WHAT IS OUR STORY?

"For years prior to 2010, God had been putting a burden in my heart to help poor children in the Philippines. Every time I heard or read about statistics of world hunger, I always felt a stirring in my heart to do something, but I was busy pursuing the American Dream plus I did not know how to do "something." So I fought off God's conviction.

The stirring did not go away. I knew God was telling me I need to do something. Finally, in 2010 I said "yes, Lord."

During a visit to the Philippines in the early part of 2011, I had a conversation with our hometown church’s pastor and his wife, and they too had the burden to help kids through feeding programs but don’t have the financial means to do it. So I presented an idea to them. If I raise the money in the United States, would they be willing to provide the volunteers to feed the hungry children?"

They said "yes."

We started out as a church ministry with Pauline Baptist Church of Monticello, AR as our sponsoring church. We had our very first feeding program on July 25, 2011. Since then, we have added 5 more feeding programs. We also started a scholarship program. As of January 2023, there are 50 children in the  scholarship program.

My family moved to Texas in 2016. Proverbs 22:9 Ministries became a nonprofit organization registered in the state of Texas in July, 2017.

THROUGH THIS, WE ARE ABLE TO SHOW THESE KIDS THE GRACE AND LOVE OF JESUS.

We have fed and shared the gospel to thousands of children.

Many of the feeding and scholarship program recipients now attend church regularly. The teenagers have fellowship every Sunday afternoons.

WE LOVE TO SEE THE LIVES OF THEIR PARENTS CHANGING, TOO!

The gospel had been shared to hundreds of parents and grandparents. Most of them had accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Parents are not only  encouraged to attend Bible studies, but also provided with opportunities to attend livelihood, family/parenting, and health/hygiene classes.

HOW CAN I HELP?

The best and easiest way to help is by giving financially. For 42 cents a day, you can feed a child 3 times a week for 1 month. For 33 cents a day, you can pay for one child to go to school. The funds also go towards providing children with vitamins and hygiene products. Partner with us in being the hands and feet of our Lord Jesus Christ by helping poor children in the Philippines.
